Hello Dear One,
Holy wow! That is what I wrote in my journal upon reflecting on my very first Sunday as the new Spiritual Director of Centre for Spiritual Living White Rock! It was an amazing experience and my favorite part was answering your questions. After my talk on Letting Your Soul Unfold (Listen here ), people got to ask me questions. It was during this time that we really delved into the nuts and bolts of living spiritual principles in your every day lives and I share a lot of my personal practice and experience.
This week we look at how participating in a transformative community can support and empower your spiritual awakening. In preparation, I asked myself: what facilitated my spiritual awakening? Well, while I was experiencing a health challenge, I put a pause on my life in order to take care of my physical health. A “side effect” of this was that I also started to tend to my mental and emotional health.
While working with a therapist and a life coach, I began to heal my heart by addressing, processing, and clearing old hurts and buried emotions. As I did this work, I gained access to my Inner Guidance. I began to experience first-hand the Loving Presence of the Divine inside of me. This opened me up to search for my own kind of spiritual community, which brought me to the Center for Spiritual Living in San Jose, California in the fall of 2008.
Eleven years later, I am the brand new Spiritual Director of a centre in White Rock, British Columbia! In my view, this is nothing short of a miracle. If you had asked me then if I thought I would be a minister and spiritual leader I would have laughed out loud. And yet, participating in transformative spiritual community is what has supported my greatest unfolding. In fact, I believe it has fast-tracked my becoming. My dedication to learn, and to take as many classes as I could, enabled me to take spiritual leaps and bounds.
Now, I’m not going to sugar coat it and say it was easy to take the transformational journey I’ve walked. But, I will say it was essential. And some of the most meaningful experiences were the most difficult. I’m telling you this because I want you to know that no matter where you are, what you’ve been through, or what you might be facing in your life now, there is hope. And being a part of a transformative community can help you out of your struggles, as well as, soar to your greatest potential.
