About the Event
For thousands of years, people across cultures have been using sound for healing, transformation, wellness, and spiritual connection.
Sound affects us on multiple levels, helping to relax the body, quiet the mind and shift emotional states. These effects can be both mystical and measurable.
When we activate the resonance of our voice, we send healing vibrations through our whole body.
Science shows us this can:
- Reduce stress, worry, anxiety, and depression
- Increase well-being, tranquillity and inner peace
- Slow heart rate and reduce blood pressure
- Enhance immune function and reduce pain
- Harmonize brainwaves to enhance creativity and connection with inner wisdom
- Calm the nervous system and increase emotional balance
This introductory workshop will explore vocal sound healing practices such as humming, toning, sounding the chakras, and singing meditation.
No experience is required. These are practices anyone can do - you do not need to identify as a singer to benefit.
Facilitated by Heidi McCurdy, singer, songwriter, sound healer, voice coach and Expressive Arts Therapist.
